About the Unbound team
WHO ARE WE?
Unbound is a civic monitoring team composed of students from the Classical High School of Crotone (Liceo Classico di Crotone). We take part in the ASOC (A Scuola di OpenCoesione) competition, through which we develop skills in research, data analysis, and active citizenship.
What We Monitor
Our project focuses on the confiscation and social reuse of properties in Cirò. In particular, we monitor a property seized from organized crime that has been transformed into a day centre for adolescents. This case allows us to observe how public action, legality, and community needs intersect at the local level.
How We Work
We analyze open data, consult institutional documents and local sources, and collect qualitative information to evaluate the implementation and social impact of the project. Our monitoring combines data-driven analysis with attention to the human and social dimension of the initiative.
Why It Matters
The social reuse of confiscated properties represents a concrete response to organized crime and an opportunity for community development. By monitoring this experience, we aim to highlight its value, identify challenges, and promote transparency and accountability.
Our Goal
With Unbound, we want to show that students can play an active role in civic life. Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of legality and participation, give visibility to positive practices in our territory, and contribute to building a more informed and responsible community.
